Explore conversations about our research inquiries such as: Can we pay people to protect the water rather than to destroy it? What is the role of the human?  How do we embrace  “unlikely allies”?  Can we bring the sacred into the digital world? Can we listen to water? How can hospitality for the “stranger” become a laboratory for the heart?

Srinija Srinivasan Srinija Srinivasan Co-President, Board Chair, Design Team

Born in India and raised in Kansas, Srinija’s bicultural upbringing sparked a lifelong curiosity about consciousness, from the arts to artificial intelligence. After working in foundational AI at the Cyc Project, she joined Yahoo! as their fifth employee, where for over 15 years, initially as Ontological Yahoo then Editor in Chief, her work centered on the human experience. She also chaired the board of non-profit SFJAZZ, and her twin experiences in tech and the arts led her to co-found Loove, a Brooklyn-based music venture exploring how artistic values can guide our markets, rather than market values leading our culture. She is a board member of the On Being Project and a former vice chair of Stanford University’s Board of Trustees.

“There is a difference between the unknown and the unknowable. The unknown is merely what we haven’t measured yet — a frontier, a problem, a dare. The ego loves the unknown. It builds telescopes and particle colliders and sends rockets into the dark, certain that with enough cleverness, the dark will yield. The unknowable is something else entirely. It is not a gap in our knowledge. It is a country where knowledge itself kneels. To the ego, the unknowable feels like failure. To the heart, it is the entry ticket.”
